My name is Michele Bodine and this is the first time I have posted a blog. It will definately be interesting have my thoughts and feelings recorded for others to read. Although I am not too found of writing (I prefer speaking my thoughts instead of writing them), I feel that this blog can be a great tool to use with my health classes. We are constantly talking about current events that occur throughout different topics in the health curriculum. What better way to be able to constantly have my students aware of "what's new in health" (as we like to call it) than having a blog that will be shared with all of my students. They can leave comments about the events that I have included and/or include a current event that they have heard about. The blog will be great way for my classes to interact with each.

Michele,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog set up and I think that you have a great start to blogging. I like your ideas on how you could use your blog for your class!
Beth
Thanks. I am new to blogging so reading the group comments will be beneficial to me.

Hi Michele,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on creating your blog. I really like your choice of background and the picture of you and your family gives it a comfortable feel. I agree with you about the benefits of a blog for a health class. I follow a few fitness/workout groups on facebook and am also seeing interesting links and videos about the latest health news. A blog would be a quick and easy way to share those with your class.

Thanks for your comments Ryan. I wasn't sure about incorporating blogs into my classes but the more I think about it, the more I really like the idea. My only problem is, my older students (grades 11 and 12) are not buying into the blogging. Therefore, I am planning on using the class blog with my 9th graders. They will buy into the idea more and love being able to use technology when ever they an get the chance.
DeleteThanks again for sharing your thoughts with me.

HI Michele
ReplyDeleteI like the theme you chose for your blog and also your family picture, very cute. I love that you want it to be interactive among the students. Mine are young but I am hoping to maybe feature a guest blogger later in the year and let them share their thoughts and ideas. We will see :)
